The rookie leader of the Denver Nuggets takes on the tall timber inside the paint for some fearless drives and rebounds. Julius Erving and the Nets ultimately beat them for the last ABA title, however, Thompson was the one to take home the All-Star Game MVP. Back then people actually competed in these things, especially here where the Denver Nuggets played as a team in front of their own crowd. Not that this matters in the larger scale of things for a Hall of Famer, but I still see this as a fun tidbit in a great player’s CV. 1976 ABA All-Star Game. January 27, 1976.
