Terry Teagle 35pts vs. Lakers (1989.02.08)

Terry Teagle 35pts 6reb 2ast

When you see that two of Terry Teagle’s 35-point games (he reached that mark six times in his NBA career, with his career-high at 44) came against the Los Angeles Lakers, it does seem obvious that the Lakeshow later decided to pick him up (where he notched the sixth). The 6-5 Baylor Bear who would play power forward for Don Nelson — like here where he is matched up against A.C. Green — stepped up in Mitch Richmond’s absence and lit the Lakers up by making 15 out of 21 field goals. Chick Hearn’s surprise is appropriate, given the degree of difficulty on these shots. The tip-in which would clinch the victory for the Warriors was the icing on the cake. February 8, 1989.
